Artifact recovering studio, 9.13

This is a photo I took on 9.13. Originally, this is a collection of Xuan paper (Chinese art paper) from diverse dynasties. When restoring an artifact that has holes in it, experts need to choose specific Xuan paper from the corresponding dynasty to ensure the consistency of the artwork. I see this as a representation of culture. However, when I look at this photo, the shape of it and the way it is stored remind me of self-made cigarette/weed rolls, which could be considered similar to opium. The Opium War of China is basically the start of Chinese modern history. Therefore, this moment is very worth remembering. The imported opium made many Chinese addicted and affected their health, therefore undermining the power of China, deconstructing Chinese culture and even civilization. Today, there are an awful lot of smokers in China. And instead of having warning pictures of lung diseases on the surfaces, Chinese cigarette boxes are beautifully designed, which I personally think is pathetic. I hope Chinese people could engrave in our hearts how harshly nicotine or opium poppy has destroyed us. So I added a filter and a caption.
Once a country's citizens are no longer healthy, the country and the civilization will no longer exist.
